Family of 5: 3 children, all boys
Day One
What did you do? First we went to Floyd Garrett’s Muscle Car Museum in Sevierville, we’re a BIG car family! We loved it, and it wasn’t busy at all so we basically had the entire place to ourselves. We had dinner at MonsterMash Burgers. We were able to make a reservation to avoid waiting for a table and the atmosphere was really cool. I had a coupon for a free appetizer, which was nice. We then checked into our hotel and relaxed the rest of the evening.
What was your favorite part of the day? Like I said, we’re a big car family, so we really loved the car museum!
Tips/Wish I would have known: MonsterMash had a really cool atmosphere but the food was just okay.
Day Two
What did you do? We went to Blue Moose Burgers and Wings for lunch and it was great! Fast service and we had a great waitress, plus we only waited about 15 minutes for a table. My sons LOVED the boneless wings there. Next we went to Cades Cove. It wasn’t busy which was super nice being as we visited on a Friday. We saw several bears, one being a cub, and some deer! Afterwards we went to Gatlinburg to visit the Hollywood Stars Car Museum. We bought the tickets online and didn’t wait to get into the museum. We really loved this museum! Afterwards we walked the strip and explored The Village, which is absolutely gorgeous! We liked taste testing all of the different sauces at Pepper Palace. We got a funnel cake from one of the local stores, then went back to the hotel for the evening.
What was your favorite part of the day? We really loved the Hollywood Stars Car Museum and exploring The Village!
Day Three
What did you do? We ate breakfast at the hotel and then did some shopping at the Tanger Outlets. We went early so there were no lines to get into the stores. We had lunch at Mellow Mushroom. The pizza was great and we had spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer and it was SO GOOD. After lunch we did the Roaring Fork Motor Trail. We loved this trail, it was absolutely beautiful. We ended the day at Anakeesta, we took the ridge runner up instead of the ski lifts because my boys were NOT a fan of the lifts. We ate dinner at Cliff Top Bar and Grill, which was probably our favorite restaurant from the entire trip. Our waitress was wonderful and the bison burgers were perfect. After dinner we finished exploring Anakeesta then headed back to our hotel.
What was your favorite part of the trip? We liked doing one of the trails and had a really great time at Anakeesta!
Tips/Wish I would have known: The ski lifts up to Anakeesta can seem scary for children, so I definitely recommend taking the ridge runner up if you have small children or if anyone in your group is afraid of heights.
