5 guys. Ages: Mid-late 20’s
Day One
What did you do? Got to the cabin and ordered pizza from Big Daddy’s Pizzeria. Spent the evening eating pizza, drinking, and playing cards in the cabin.
What was your favorite part of the day? The pizza was good.
Day Two
What did you do? Ate breakfast at Apple Barn. Food was really good, especially the apple fritters. We when zip lining through Wahoo Ziplines. Was a lot of fun, and had plenty of lines. Had dinner at Holston’s. Had the smoked pork spare ribs and they were great. Overall the food and service was good. Went to Knife Works after dinner. Really cool store, had everything you could think of.
What was your favorite part of the day? Ziplining was great. It was a lot of fun, Wahoo Ziplines really knew what they were doing so you felt comfortable.
Tips/Wish I would have known: The Apple Barn gets really busy really fast. Luckily we missed the big rush by getting there early.
Day Three
What did you do? Ate breakfast at Flapjack’s Pancake Cabin. Service was good and the food was decent, the service was quick. We went on an ATV ride through Bluff Mountain Adventures. We did the 1.5 hour Mountain Trail Adventure. It was pretty cool, and the guides were helpful in navigating the trail. For dinner we went to Burg Steakhouse. Definitely not what we were expecting. Every entree is $40, the sides, soup and salad are all a buffet bar, and our waiter was not great. Super slow service (and all he had to do was get our beers and rolls), and he forgot to give us rolls until the end of dinner when we asked about it. The steaks weren’t cooked the way we ordered, and they had little to no flavor. If you add garlic butter to the steak it’s decent, but the butter’s $3. Wouldn’t go again. Spent the rest of the night doing moonshine tastings around Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Really liked Old Forge Distillery.
What was your favorite part of the day? ATVing was a good time, Bluff Mountain definitely knows what they’re doing.
Day Four
What did you do? We ate breakfast at Pancake Pantry. Pancakes were really good and the portions were big. We went white water rafting through Smoky Mountain Outdoors. It was a 6.5 mile trip and was a lot of fun. None of us had gone before so it was nice to have a guide. You get wet during the trip so bring towels. For dinner we went to Calhoun’s in Gatlinburg. Again, great food. Can’t go wrong with a BBQ dinner.
What was your favorite part of the day? White water rafting was a lot of fun. Will definitely be doing it again.
Tips/Wish I would have known: You might get a little more wet than you planned during rafting, so bring extra clothes and a towel.
